What to get for your wife | Christmas gift ideas 2020
What a year 2020 has been! If there's one thing we've learned about this year, it's to treasure both little and big moments - and that sometimes it's the little moments that matter the most.
We're beginning our series of gift guides with one for wives. As young wives ourselves, we are just beginning to understand how God comes through every day even amid the seemingly ordinary. Sometimes He turns up in the middle of meal prep; other times it's provision just when we thought we were overlooked.
For the husbands reading this - we know how hard it can be to get your partner a gift. The one who's put up with your snoring; who's tirelessly looked after the children; who's made sure everyone is looked after - a lot of times at her expense.
We have some ideas for what to get - though we'd cheekily like to add that no gift can replace genuine connection. We'd suggest setting aside time to have a good conversation, and appreciate each other amid the highs and lows of the year.
Presenting ... our gift guide for the women in your lives.
1. A quiet afternoon at The Nail Social
We know rest is vital but sometimes it is hard to make time for it.
Give your beloved wife an afternoon off at The Nail Social, which specialises in non-toxic manicures and pedicures. We love that it's a socially-conscious salon, which was set up with the aim of providing training and jobs for marginalised women in Singapore.
2. A quick and easy manicure with Nodspark nail wraps
Sometimes, it's hard to duck out for an afternoon. How about a budget-friendly option instead: Nail wraps from homegrown label Nodspark. Make it special with some tea (check out our next gift idea!) and give her a well-deserved afternoon in.
Best of all, Nodspark's nail wraps are super easy to put on, and last up to a few weeks. And if budget permits, get her a set so she can easily change designs when it strikes her fancy!
3. Something to-tea-lly up her alley
We love what tea represents. Sometimes it accompanies us while we sit down to finally spend some time with God. Other times it brings such comfort, like a warm hug from the inside.
There are too many types of teas to choose from but for gifting, consider something special from A.muse Projects - their unique blends can instantly transport you someplace else. If you're feeling creative, you can even make your own blend - specially for your loved one.
4. A workshop to explore her interests
Have you ever wanted to sit down to try something new, but never found the time to? (That's definitely us!) Sometimes, we need to make time to explore something that feeds the soul.
We're not privy to what your wife is interested in, but can definitely suggest a few ideas! Local calligrapher The Letter J Supply is bringing her signature workshops to your home - you don't even need to step out of the house to start creating. Or sign her up for a Terrazzo tray workshop with our friends, Chokmah. If you find any great workshops that you think we should know about, let us know too!
5. A beautiful frame to adorn her space
Sometimes, the best gift is one that brings encouragement to everyday life. We know that feeling all too well - there are days when nothing seems to go right and we just need a dose of truth.
Help set the atmosphere at home with one of our exclusive embroidered frames produced in collaboration with local embroidery house Shepha. We handpicked the verses that we believe God placed on our hearts - and trust they'll make it into homes and spaces to uplift and encourage. Choose from two verses - Zephaniah 3:17 (you can personalise this to include the recipient's name!) and Psalm 136:1.
Take the Word into your everyday and speak a blessing over your wife's life today.
We hope this gift guide helps ease the stress of Christmas shopping and helps you connect with the recipient instead! Look out for our guides for husbands, friends, kids and even fur friends, to be released in the coming weeks.
